ABSTRACT
Report on the research project: 66 p., 6 chapters, 9 tables, 11 figures, 51 references.
The object of the research: heavy metals in soils and soil profile of territories under the influence of ferrous metallurgy, chemical industry, and in conditionally clean territories.
The purpose of the research is to investigate the patterns of heavy metals distribution in environmental objects of industrially contaminated territories of Ukraine and to assess their ecological-geochemical state.
Research methods: physicochemical (atomic absorption, spectral analysis) and chemical methods (silicate analysis); mass spectrometry with inductively coupled plasma (ICP-MS); the method of continuous extractions; microscopic, X-ray phase, and granulometric methods.
An ecological and geochemical study of industrially contaminated territories under the influence of ferrous metallurgy enterprises, chemical industry, and urban ecosystems was carried out.
The results of the conducted research complement the idea of the object nature of heavy metal pollution of the territories under the influence of ferrous metallurgy, the chemical industry, and the fuel and energy complex. It is proposed to take into account the soil layers of the section and soil density when calculating the total pollution index.
New data on man-made geochemical anomalies formed under the influence of both operating and closed chemical industry enterprises were obtained. It is shown that the mobility of heavy metals exceeds the background values by ten times.
The integration of ecological-geochemical research and magnetic monitoring can be recommended for monitoring the state of man-made polluted urban environment in the territories under the influence of ferrous metallurgy.
