Creation of laboratory facilities working on new pricnciples for the production of high-quality iron ore concentrates from highly dispersed iron ore raw materials

ABSTRACT

Report on the SRW: 1 book, 85 pages, 21 illustrations, 5 tables, 55 references.

The object of research is a collection of samples of highly dispersed iron ores of various types.

The purpose of the work: the creation of operational laboratory equipment that works on new principles for the production of high-quality, competitive iron ore concentrates from highly dispersed iron ore raw materials, which are contained in the waste of mining and processing plants, which will contribute to the expansion of the mineral and raw material base of Ukraine.

Research methods and equipment: X-ray diffraction method (DRON-4M), thermomagnetic studies, magnetometry method (magnetometer with a Hall sensor), X-ray fluorescence spectroscopy (ARL Optim'X WD).

Results and their novelty: The main types of iron ores of the Krivorizky iron ore basin are described, and the main traditional methods of their enrichment are also characterized. Operating laboratory equipment for the production of iron ore concentrates from highly dispersed iron ore raw materials has been created, namely, laboratory installations that allow the transformation of weakly magnetic minerals into strongly magnetic magnetite with the subsequent separation of ore and non-ore components. The regularities of phase transformations of highly dispersed iron ores in gaseous and aqueous medium (under the influence of microwave radiation) were studied and the optimal regimes of such transformations were determined. It was shown that microwave radiation stimulates the transformation processes of weakly magnetic minerals (hematite, goethite) into strongly magnetic magnetite, and the magnetization of the obtained samples increases significantly. With the help of the created equipment, magnetic separation of highly dispersed raw materials was carried out and it was shown that the concentration of iron in the concentrate is more than 69%. The novelty of the obtained results is that the separation of ore and non-ore components occurs with the help of multipolar pulses of the magnetic field, separated by time intervals during which the field is zero.

Recommendations for using the results of the work: the obtained results can be used to solve the problems of processing highly dispersed iron ore raw materials.
