Creation of analogues of semi-industrial installations for the production of high-conditioned concentrates for the metallurgical industry from technognic iron ore raw materials

ABSTRACT

Report on the SRW: 1 book, 83 pages, 23 illustrations, 5 tables, 26 references.

The object of research is a collection of iron ore samples of various types.

The purpose of the work: improvement of traditional technologies for the production of iron ore concentrates from difficult-to-enrich iron ore raw materials using new approaches to the separation of ore and non-ore components of ore raw materials using the combined effect of permanent and variable magnetic fields.

Research methods and equipment: magnetometry method (Hall sensor magnetometer), X-ray fluorescence spectroscopy (ARL Optim'X WD), X-ray diffraction method (DRON-4M), thermomagnetic studies, NGR spectroscopy.

Results and their novelty: The technogenic iron ore deposits of Kryvyi Rih were characterized. Analogues of semi-industrial plants for the production of iron ore concentrates have been created, namely: a plant for converting weakly magnetic iron ore raw materials into strong magnetic ones with the help of reducing gases and a device for separating highly dispersed iron ore raw materials. With the help of the created installation, the regimes of transformations of magnetic properties and the structure of iron ores under the influence of reducing gases were investigated, and the degree of transformation was determined depending on the size of the particles, the temperature in the reactor, etc. It was shown that when hematite ore is fired in a CO atmosphere at temperatures of 300-700 °C, magnetite with a Curie temperature of 550-560 °C is formed. The magnetization of the obtained samples increases several tens of times. With the help of the created installation, magnetic separation of the converted samples was carried out and it was shown that the concentration of iron in the resulting concentrate is, for some samples, 69%. The novelty of the obtained results lies in the fact that the separation of ore and non-ore components occurs with the help of the combined effect of constant and variable magnetic fields.

Recommendations for using the results of the work: the obtained results can be used to solve the problems of processing iron ores of Kryvyi Rih and to solve environmental problems of Kryvyi Rih.
