Geochemical assessment of the Phanerozoic REE and rare metals ore occurrences of the Eastern Azov Block of the Ukrainian Shield

ABSTRACT

Research report: 103 pp., 31 fig., 14 tab., 51 refernces.

The objects of the study – are the Tavlovske (Anadolske) and Zhogolovske rare-earth ore occurrences, the Novoselevske and Kichiksu rare-metal (molybdenum, tungsten) ore occurrences and the Pokrovo-Kireevske titanium-vanadium deposit.

Goal of the work – It has been proven that certain formations within the zone of junction of the Ukrainian Shield with the Donbas Foldbelt and the eastern part of the Azov megablock, where Phanerozoic magmatism, associated with deep faults of the riftogenic type, was intensively manifested, are promising objects for the search for rare metal-rare earth mineralization.

Estimated areas have been allocated for exploration.

The results of the work will be used for a qualitative geological and geochemical assessment of rare earth ore occurrences of the Phanerozoic age of the Eastern Azov region and the selection of the most promising objects among them for the search for rare earth and rare metal raw materials.
