Development of geochemical criteria for looking for gold in weathering crusts of the crystaline foundation of the Ukrainian shield (Brusyliv suture zone and adjacent territories)

The object of research is gold-bearing crusts of weathering.

The purpose of the work is to develop geochemical criteria for searching for gold in the weathering crusts of the crystalline basement of the Ukrainian shield (Brusyliv seam zone and adjacent territories).

Research methods are chemical, ion-selective, atomic absorption, thermodynamic analysis, mathematical modeling, etc.

The geochemical features of indigenous rocks, as sources of gold for hypergenic gold concentrations, were studied; the main factors and mechanisms of gold concentration under different physical and chemical environmental conditions are defined; correlation of gold content in gold-bearing weathering crusts with the development of tectonic structures was carried out; Territories promising for setting tasks for searching for gold-bearing weathering crusts have been determined.

Using the example of certain areas of the territory of the Brusyliv seam zone ("Sidory", "Krylivka", "Bilka", "Svityntsi"), a new technology was developed for searching for gold in weathering crusts by mobile forms of chemical elements in surface deposits: in zones of tectonic disturbances by anomalies of mobile forms of As and Li (multiplicative factor - As∙Li); in areas of zones of tectonic stability by anomalies of mobile forms Y, Yb (multiplicative factor - Y∙Yb). It has been established that ore-bearing areas can be determined by the presence of gold in the ash of plants (peanuts), which is a gold concentrator. The results of the NDR are accepted for implementation in the search for gold in weathering crusts.
