Objects of research are satellites of diamond from terrigenous deposits and alkaline-ultrabasic rocks. Geochronology of Paleoproterozoic rocks and fault tectonics of the Novohrad-Volynskyy block.
The purpose of the work is to locate areas for searching of kimberlites and alkaline-ultrabasic rocks.
Research methods are mineralogical, isotopic-geochemical, local X-ray spectral.
The results of the study of mantle minerals, accompanying diamond, from the terrigenous deposits of the Novohrad-Volynskyy block are presented. It is shown that in terms of chemical composition and other features, they are similar to minerals of the same name from kimberlites of different provinces of the world. Minerals of the same composition in the form of xenocrysts were found in the alkaline-ultrabasic rocks of Bolyarkivska and other intrusions, which allows us to consider the latter as transporters of diamond-related minerals from the upper mantle to the earth's surface. Using modern methods, the isotopic age of plagiogranites of the Sheremetyevsky complex (2090-2150 Ma), alkaline-ultrabasic rocks of the Gorodnytskyy complex (2010-2050 Ma), gabroids of the Bukynskyy complex (1993-1999 Ma), granites of the Zhytomyrskyy complex (2067- 2081 Ma).
It has been established that the intrusions of alkaline-ultrabasic rocks are related to the northeast-trending mantle faults and nodes of their intersection with the deep faults of the Sarnensko-Varvarivska riftogenic structure. Two promising areas for the search for new bodies of alkaline-ultrabasic rocks and kimberlites have been identified.
