Mineralogy and genesis of Anadol-type rare-earth mineralization (Azov megablock)

ABSTRACT

Report on the scientific research work: 82 p., 37 figures, 4 tables, 43 references.

The objects of research are the minerals that make up the Anadol rare-earth elements ore deposit, the peculiarities of their distribution, structure, chemical composition, and fluid inclusions.

The aim of the work is to determine the peculiarities of the mineral composition of the ore, the chemical composition of minerals that are concentrates of rare earth elements and related elements, to reproduce the conditions of formation of the Anadol ore deposit.

Research methods is a complex of mineral study methods is applied: radiometric, optical microscopy, classical chemical and electron-probe, mineralofluidological analises, etc.

The capture temperatures of aqueous gas-liquid inclusions were determined, the fluid pressure of the mineral formation environment was calculated, and the chemical composition of aqueous solutions of inclusions and their salt concentration were determined based on the results of cryometric analysis. Important genetic information was obtained from the results of the analysis of gaseous products of pyrolysis of minerals during intermittent heating of minerals in a wide range of temperatures (from 200 to 1050 °C).

REE concentrators in ore deposits are minerals of various classes (allanite, britholite, cerite - silicates; bastnesite - carbonate; monazite - phosphate; cerianite - oxide), however, more than 95-98% of the total mass of REE is concentrated in silicates, and >90% - in allanite . Although it is characterized by a lower REE content compared to typical concentrator minerals, the large volume of allanite in the rock (up to 70-90%) ensures the accumulation of large masses of REE at the site. The ore deposit was formed in a wide temperature range (from ≤850 to approximately 130-170 °С).
