M.P. Semenenko Institute of Geochemistry, Mineralogy and Ore Formation of NAS of Ukraine

Assistance of Institute employees to the Armed Forces of Ukraine and territorial defense

The Institute's researchers, in the difficult conditions of the war launched by the Russian Federation, continue to work on the Institute's scientific topics, including conducting scientific research related to strengthening the defense capability and security of the state:

- On May 25, 2022, at a meeting of the Presidium of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine, the Institute's Chief Researcher, Doctor of Geological Sciences Volodymyr Oleksiyovych Syomka, delivered a report "On the prospects for the development of lithium production in Ukraine;"

- since beryllium is a strategic raw material used in many military products, on the topic "Types of beryllium deposits and ore occurrences of the Ukrainian Shield: prospects for use in view of physical properties of minerals, chemical composition and reserves of beryllium ores" program-targeted and competitive topics of the NAS of Ukraine for 2021-2025 (scientific supervisors: Candidate of Geology D.S. Chernysh, Candidate of Geology and Mineralogy V.M. Khomenko) scientists are actively conducting research into the crystal chemistry of minerals of the Perzhansky deposit using a complex of modern methods based on the Technical University of Berlin (Germany).

Employees of our Institute serve in the Armed Forces of Ukraine and the territorial defense of Kyiv.

The primary trade union organization of the Institute, with the consent of the labor collective, transferred membership fees for March 2022 to the needs of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

Employees of the Institute, to the best of their ability, regardless of their location (some have gone outside Ukraine), carry out charitable and volunteer activities in the interests of the Armed Forces of Ukraine and territorial defense:
