Semenenko Institute of Geochemistry, Mineralogy and Ore Formation of the NAS of Ukraine sincerely congratulate the outstanding scientist in the field of mineralogy, Doctor of Geological and Mineralogical Sciences, Professor, Academician of the Academy of Sciences of the Higher School of Ukraine, laureate of the State Prize in the field of science and technology of Ukraine, Honored Worker of Science and Technology of Ukraine, Honorary President of the Ukrainian Mineralogical Society, Honorary Member of the All-Russian Mineralogical Society, luminary and leader of Ukrainian mineralogical science Vladimir Ivanovich Pavlyshin on the occasion of his 85th anniversary. We wish him good health and further creative inspiration.

Vladimir Ivanovich Pavlyshyn Born in 1940, an outstanding Ukrainian mineralogist, teacher, has worked at the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine since 1970. His scientific activity is related to the study of typomorphism and ontogeny of minerals from the depths of Ukraine, symmetry-dissymmetry of crystals. He is the author and co-author of about 500 publications, fruitfully enriched all sections of modern mineralogy with new achievements. He made the greatest contribution to regional (20 scientific monographs), genetic (4), applied (3) and educational (4 textbooks, 12 monographs) mineralogy, the history of mineralogy (6) and museum work. Pavlyshyn V.I. has the honorary title "Honored Worker of Science and Technology of Ukraine" (2006), laureate of the M. Ostrovsky Republican Prize in the field of science, technology and production (1974), the State Prize of Ukraine in the field of science and technology (2013), Honorary President of the Ukrainian Mineralogical Society (2006), Honorary Member of the Russian Mineralogical Society (2010), awarded medals, Certificates of Honor, Gratitude, diplomas.

Pavlyshin V.I. awarded the medals of V.I. Luchytsky for merits in the exploration of the subsoil of Ukraine (1999) of the Academy of Sciences of Ukraine on the occasion of the 25th anniversary of the Academy of Sciences of Ukraine (2017), named after Academician E.K. Lazarenko for contribution to mineralogy (Union of Geologists of Ukraine, 2005) and "For Merit" of the 1st degree (Union of Geologists of Ukraine, 2011); silver badge (Union of Geologists of Ukraine, 2001), gold badge (Union of Geologists of Ukraine, 2010); Honorary certificates of the Ministry of Science and Technology of Ukraine (2000) and the Ministry of Finance of Ukraine for a significant contribution to the development of museum work and on the occasion of the 10th anniversary of the Museum of Precious and Precious Stones (2006), for special outstanding services to the Taras Shevchenko National University of Kyiv (2015); Gratitude from the member of the Presidium of the NAS of Ukraine, academician-secretary of the Department of Earth Sciences of the NAS of Ukraine V.I. Starostenko for many years of fruitful work as president of the Ukrainian Mineralogical Society (2001); Award Prize from the World Mineralogical Organization for a significant contribution to the development of world mineralogical progress (2004), Yaroslav the Wise in the field of science and technology of the Academy of Sciences of Higher Education (HE) of Ukraine (2010) and St. Volodymyr in the field of science and technology of the Academy of Sciences of Higher Education (HE) of Ukraine (2015); "Petro Mohyla" badges of the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine for the development of higher education (2007) and "Excellent Education Worker of Ukraine" of the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine for the development of higher education (2009); a diploma with a silver badge and gratitude from the organizing committee of the XVII International Geological Congress in Moscow (1984); diplomas of the VDNG of the Ukrainian SSR for the development of a methodology for determining the productivity of chamber pegmatites (1983), the Komi branch of the USSR Academy of Sciences for the best scientific work in 1988 "Ontogenic Method in Mineralogy" (1989), the All-Union Mineralogical Society for the best popular science book "Natural Crystals of Ukraine" (1992).
