Department of petrology

Main scientific directions of the department: petrology of the crystalline rocks of the Ukrainian shield and its framework, including the volcanics of the Crimea, the Black Sea, as well as the volcanism of the world ocean.

The staff of the department of petrology provides the following services to third-party organizations:

diagnostics of rocks, determination of their mineral composition and genesis, diagnostics of ore (including rare metal) minerals and assessment of potential ore bearing of various complexes of crystalline rocks.
