Department of Geological and Geochemical Research

Main fields of scientific activity of the department:

      - Predicting mineral deposits and occurrences based on a comprehensive study of research objects and the construction of geological and geophysical models of sites;

      - Assessment of the investment attractiveness of known rare earth deposits and forecasting the prospects of rare metals and rare earth ore occurrences of the Ukrainian shield;

      - On-shore and off-shore prospecting hydrocarbon resource base of Ukraine by geochemical methods;

      - The research focused on the assessment and management of environmental changes under conditions of technogenic load.

 

Main scientific results of the department:

      - Geologic-geophysical prediction of promising areas within the boundaries of the East Priazovie (rare and rare-earth elements) and the Kirovogradsky geoblocks (noble and radioactive metals);

      - A strategic plan has been developed for the implementation of an investment project to create a mining and ore cluster of rare metal - rare earth deposits of Ukraine (Mazurovske, Azovske, Anadolske);

      - Technological scheme of an experimental heat pump installation was developed, which utilizes the heat of mine waters for the conditions of the Stepova mine of the Lvivugol State Coal Mining Company.
